Currently on my radar is a villain named Joseph Kony. He is a coward in Uganda, Africa.
He and his rebel army steal children in the night from their homes and uses them for his gain.
The young boys that he abducts, he turns into fighters. The young girls, sex slaves.
They are forced to exterminate their families; mothers, fathers or guardians, so that they are solely dependant on him for their lives. He is a sick twisted cruel man, whose only reason to fight is to keep himself in power. There isn't any oil, gold, or wealth to be gained or lost. He does it to simply terrorize the people of Africa!
What boggles the mind, is the fact that we haven't intervened to stop him from committing these atrocities against humanity. One wonders why? One would conclude, because there is no gold, oil or desired natural resource that we can use as a bargaining chip? nah, that ain't it. Could it be that we have people of interest that could benefit us? umm no.
He has been at it for 26 years. 26 year of ruining childrens' lives and the destruction of peaceful living.
What needs to happen is the US of A needs to send troops to surgical cut this man from the face of earth and send his blacken soul to the hereafter.
How is it, that this injustice was allowed to go on so long, when U.S military boots have hit foreign soil for less egregious offenses? Where are our priorities, when we dictate our fancies for justice, for crude oil or other commerce or the placing in powerful positions, individuals that would support the US?
You ask " what is in the balance?" What is in the balance if this man is allowed to run afoul of justice unchecked? The balance is how we are perceived in history, how we look at ourselves and how we justify our going into foreign soil for a greed.
